Progressing through the nursery, your child, as well as building on newly developed skills, will also be introduced to many pre-school activities, including phonics. All the children at the nursery are encouraged to use their growing independence and social confidence to ease the transition from nursery to primary school.
The Nursery has its own outdoor play area, equipped with a variety of climbing apparatus and other toys designed to develop your child’s motor skills and to ensure that their time in the nursery is happy and fulfilling. The older children also have the opportunity to experience P.E within the local school’s hall; this helps the children further in being familiar with a school environment.
All children learn more successfully when they are happy and confident, and we aim to build up their self-esteem so that they can interact as members of a social group, by learning to take turns, by caring for one another and by being aware of each other’s needs. As they become more confident and able, they will be encouraged to tackle more intricate tasks.
